Will It Ever Come Easily?

When I think I have my plan all worked out… life happens!

It has been way too long since I sat with you for a moment or two… oh how I’ve missed it!

In our God-crazy life as B&B innkeepers… we have been super-busy! It was the busiest Fall yet with guests, but also just lots going on… just keep swimming!!! 😊

To add to our great adventure, we are now pawrents of a sweet (sometimes) Goldendoodle (doodette)… her name is Miz Beazley! She is loving, spunky and oh so very sassy! My hubby says she takes after me!

Through tear-filled, blurry eyes in the battle… surrender has been giving me fits at times. Why did I want to look closer at this???

Here is what I am reminded of… surrender doesn’t always come all at once! There are those moments… little battles… each step of the way to surrender. (at least for me)

So for weeks I have tried to write down my thoughts on surrendering my words… when I really started thinking on it… I found out the words I speak are not always the words I should be speaking! Can you relate to this?

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. ~ Psalms 19:14

I came up with more questions than answers…

Are my words surrendered to the Lord?

Do my words speak truth?

Do my words show trust in God?

Do my words speak life?

Do I use my words to manipulate?

Do my words speak peace for thoughts of rest?

Do my words show thankfulness?

Do I think before I speak? Ooooh, that is a hard one for a quick-witted person!

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. ~ Philippians 4:8

The funny thing about surrender is that there is no magic potion to cause us to surrender… it is always a moment to moment decision! At least for me it’s that way!

As I study more and more about surrender, God is showing me so many other bits of my life where I am not surrendered to Him!

It’s kind of like being content where you are at, but what if you can surrender for something more to open up for you in your life… your next step from God??? In most cases, I believe that we, as Believers, can get by without surrendering in certain areas of our lives, but we will never be brought to our complete calling without surrender.

Have you seen the picture of the little girl holding a tiny teddy bear, while Jesus stands in front of her with a giant teddy bear behind His back. He is trying to show her to trust Him for bigger things! I am that little girl way too many times! If only I would surrender it all to Him… oh the possibilities are endless!

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 4:19

I wonder… will surrender ever come easy for me? When revisited issues of the past come up again… surrender does happen quicker for me, BUT… as new things come up, or things I think I can still figure out by myself… it rarely comes easily or quickly!

Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; make His deeds known among the peoples! ~ 1 Chronicles 16:8

I just knew I had to get this done to share with you today… tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so let me wish you all a Happy & Blessed Thanksgiving! I am so thankful for the times… though few and far between, that we can sit and chat like this!

In His Grace, Carin
