We have had a really good summer at the Inn… so far! Very, very busy which is really good! I love that we have been given this opportunity to bring strangers (mostly) into our home… to show them hospitality.
Do you remember the song from a few years ago by Audio Adrenaline – Hands and Feet. Here’s a snippet of the words:
“And I'll try, yeah I'll try To touch the world Like You touched my life And I'll find my way To be Your hands”
In this (sometimes) crazy life of running a B&B… being the hands and feet of Jesus is the only way I get through many days! And let me just tell you… many of those days I still do it with big-time failure!!!
You know, we have so many great guests, but every once in a while we have people come to stay that are just not the norm… maybe a little “difficult”. Well, over the last week or so we had a few those guests… hope we have reached our quota for the summer season!!
Most of the time we run the Inn like a smooth machine, but now and then it is like someone has thrown a wrench into the works!
So the other day I asked God why are some people easy to love while others just seem so hard? I was quickly reminded that He loves me even when I am not easy too! ;)
The table had been turned!
I read in Psalms for the day and here is what I found…
Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day. ~ Psalms 25:4-5
I wait!
Thankful for daily instruction!
Also, I came across this quote… it really made me look at being a part of the body of Christ… His hands and feet… in a whole new way:
“Christ has no body now on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours, Yours are the eyes through which to look out Christ's compassion to the world Yours are the feet with which he is to go about doing good; Yours are the hands with which he is to bless men now.” ― Teresa of Ávila
I hope in all of my rambling, you found a little encouragement! My heart was encouraged writing it!
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” ~ Isaiah 6:8
In His Grace, Carin
