Now we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
In case you haven’t realized this about me… I LOVE WORDS!
Words mean a lot to me! Yes, actions are very important, BUT… give me a good word… I can think for a long time on that!
Did you notice the title of this post? I heard it said many times… What goes around comes around! What do you think that means? Some may say that’s karma… well, I don’t believe in karma! I believe in kindness and grace! Also, there should always be consequences for bad behavior.
A few weeks ago, I had the chance to go on a Walk to Emmaus. What is that, you may ask... it’s a 72 hour program (some may call a retreat) where I had time alone with God for prayer, communion, great teachings, and fellowship with other women with the desire to grow more in our Christian walk.
An old friend of mine did one of the talks (teachings) at the Walk to Emmaus. I’ve known her for over 40 years! We always have fun together… and we may have possibly gotten into a little trouble at times when we were teenagers! 😉
My friend shared part of her story of how her life was changed forever! It is a great story of redemption and God’s grace. In her story, she shared what an impact my family had on her life all those years ago. Just showing kindness and love and allowing God to move through us with the hope of Christ… He changed my friend’s life forever.
So here’s the “what goes around comes around” part for me… all those years ago as a teenager God used me to help her and now, today, as a woman in my 50’s… God is using my friend to help me see my purpose and significance in my life, bringing me to a place where I can grow closer to Father God!
As tears ran down my cheeks… I listened to my friend share her story… memories of things I had even forgotten! It was definitely a “Godwink” moment for me! God knew exactly what I needed to see His purpose in my life in the past and even now in the present!
I have had more than my share of moments in the last few years where I just couldn’t grasp what my purpose is… was I really doing anything of significance to help in God’s work???
I am sure of this very thing—that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the Day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6
Here is what I know to be true…
We may never see what impact we are having for Christ in this world!
And that’s okay!
It is not about us!
It’s about Him!
I am so thankful to have received this glimpse of God working through me!
You just never know when what goes around may come around in your path too!
Keep your eyes on Christ!
In His Grace, Carin
