This is the season of Advent… the season of HOPE!
Are you facing uncertain circumstances or things not going as hoped?
I really didn’t grow up knowing much about “advent”. My family of course celebrated baby Jesus being born… Christmas. We also were always aware and preparing our hearts for Jesus Christ’s return some day… but that was an ongoing thing in my family. Not really a lighting a candle for each Sunday of Advent or an Advent calendar with goodies for the kiddos. How about your family?
It has been a “darker” than normal time for me lately… physically dark (no sun), emotionally dark, maybe even a little spiritually dark. I deal with SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) so northern Michigan may not be the best place for me!!!
Advent … arrival, start, beginning, dawn.
Dawn… the time of day when the sun rises… it rises whether we see it or not. And those are the days I have got to dig down deep… have courageous, confident faith!
We are in preparation at the Inn for Christmas and the B&B Christmas Cookie Tour. Decking the halls... trimming the trees... baking the cookies. But in all the hub bub... am I preparing my heart or am I just getting caught up in all the doing? If none of this tour goes as we hope... will we still shine His light at Shining Light Inn? I would hope so, cuz our God is bigger than all of this.
Remember the Son came as a baby, to die on a cruel cross, to rise at the dawn of day to give us eternal life… and life abundant! No one can take that away… no matter how gloomy the day may be… no matter how bad the circumstances.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. ~ John 10:10
Even if your prayers are not answered the way you want. Even if your way seems dark. Even if your healing never comes this side of Heaven... keep the faith!
Living in the arms of Jesus, there is no sweeter place!
If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up. ~ Daniel 3:17-18
Here is a song I wanted to share… this gives me such hope and confidence in the One who came… is here now (God with Us)… and will come again.
Keep watching!
Never stop looking for those moments to be the light to someone else.
I am trying to remember that each of these times are the best time to show how GREAT God is! He is bigger than anyone can imagine!
Shine Him brightly!
In His Grace, Carin
